At a Menopause Café people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss menopause.

Our Menopause Cafés are offered:

• In an accessible, respectful and confidential space
• Open for all, regardless of gender or age
• With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
• On a not for profit basis
• Alongside refreshing drinks!

 **LAUNCH of Basingstoke Menopause Cafe** 

Welcome to the launch of The Menopause Cafe – a safe, inclusive & friendly place to talk about the menopause!

After starting the menopause around 37, battling with my GP for some time to establish that yes, it really was that – I began looking for support groups that might help me with the barrage of questions I had and, somewhere to be amongst others who understood or were just accepting about some of my experiences. Somewhere for open, trusted discussion & maybe some knowledge sharing 

One of the biggest barriers I found and continue to find; is accessible, real life experiences shared without judgement, ideals, agenda or assumption. So after looking for local groups & not finding any, I have decided to start my own with the support of the charitable organisation the ‘Menopause Cafe.’ (Originally started in 2017 and now global! www.menopausecafe.net)

I sincerely believe that coming together like this, to participate, meet and talk, can be powerful and empowering. 

If you would like to meet like minded others and come along to chat, drink tea, listen or just be amongst a group of others that wish to do the same and normalise female health discussions, then please do feel free to join for the launch event.

There is no obligation to be going through the menopause – being empowered to take autonomy in our own health choices as women and learn about our bodies; is universal 

This is an accessible, confidential and respectful initiatve and the 22nd November marks the very first Menopause Cafe in Basingstoke!

This is going to be held at my home, in order to embrace the community feel & provide a warm and friendly welcome.

Future events will be held in a local creative centre however, for the launch I’d like to invite you all to my home.

I’ll provide tea and coffee and some light refreshments but please bring wine, beer, Prosecco or anything alcoholic that you might like to drink should you want to.

As there is no parking at the venue, the local car park can be found at ‘Brinkletts’ on Winchester road, Castons and Southern Road. We are also a 15 min walk away from the main Basingstoke train / bus station.
